away vs Hermance
Hermance (22-19) GC Zürich (HT 22-0)
Match report by Arsène Ljubenovic
After a long journey down to the far lands of Hermance, 17 brave man of GC went to face an old foe, at their lead a new Captain: Lawrence «the Law» Visser. From the beginning it was clear it was going to be a hard fight. Scrums were lost, balls stolen in the ruck, opportunities missed. One of GCs youngest, Andri «el Gigolo» Koeferli (a rising star of swiss Rugby), was even so unfortunate to find himself in the way of a twitchy Hermance fist and was forced to counter it with his own eye, he thanked the man with an elegant and well-deserved swing. Neverthless the inability to get their heads in the game left GC down by 22:0 at halftime.
But that wasn’t the end of it. Encouraged by the words of the coach, a new GC started into the second half. The tide turned as the german traktor Chris Röhrig himself succesfully scored a try off a maul. It was as if a wind of change had grasped the first XV and a great team effort allowed. Ivan Kraljevic, coming back from a shoulder injury, once again proved his worth and score two tries for the boys from Zurich. Unfortunately Zurich found their mojo too late in the game and, in the end, even with two conversions made good by J.B., Zurich could not follow through in dealing the final blow to Hermance.
Final Score: GC -- 19:22 -- Hermance
